Guardium Security Services is currently looking for Security Systems Technician to join our team.

We offer:

  • Employment location: various locations as per job requirement all over Edmonton.

Specific Skills:

  • Design, install, repair, maintain, replace, test and service the operation of all electronic security alarm systems including video surveillance, alarms, etc
  • Respond to customer technical inquiries, and provide basic customer training for proper system usage
  • Maintain safety procedures, document work and communicate with staff
  • Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a substantial variety of Security systems and equipment
  • Consistent commitment to following best practice safety procedures, documenting work and communicating with staff
  • Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software
  • Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work
  • Examine damaged systems to troubleshoot problems such as loose connections and broken insulation
  • Drill holes for wiring, running and positioning cables, studying install sites and building plans/blueprints to determine required materials and to ensure correct installation
  • Mount control panels, sensors, video cameras, conduits, and more
  • After installation, run tests on circuits, sensors, backup batteries, sirens, and other security features to verify they are functioning properly
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required


  • Must be able to speak English
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in related field
  • Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
  • Work setting: Repair, Service, On-site customer service
  • Personal suitability: Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Organized, Reliability
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Fast-paced environment
