Tervita and Christina River Enterprises (CRE) Form Joint Venture – CRE-Tervita Corporation

Fort McMurray, Alberta (May 14, 2015) – Tervita Corporation, a leading environmental solutions provider and CRE, the proud business entity of the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation, are pleased to announce a joint venture partnership to provide waste management services within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

“It is important to our community members that we build relationships with companies that recognize our commitment to stewardship of the land,” said Chief Ron Kreutzer. “Tervita shares many common values with CRE and the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation. We are proud to promote our partnership with Tervita and share their commitment to safety, the land, and the environment.”

CRE-Tervita Corporation will be majority-owned by CRE with Tervita as the managing partner. In addition to the quality, safety and cost-competitiveness that customers expect from Tervita, the joint venture will also contribute to employment, business development, and community improvements for the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation.

“We knew we found a great partner with CRE and the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation,” said Tervita chief executive officer Chris Synek.  “CRE’s commitment to safety and quality matches our core values and we’re excited about the opportunities this partnership will offer to both customers and members of the First Nation.”
