Description
The purpose of this request for proposal is to partner with a vendor that can provide managed services for the AUC’s firewall operations. The AUC IT team seeks to augment their skills with a managed service for firewall operations support. The AUC prefers a three-year term contract for the managed service and is open to multiple contracts covering up to a total of five years. This service would include routine operational work coordinated by the AUC IT team and annually defined initiatives or projects initiated through separate statements of work. The operational work on the specific technology includes daily issues escalated from the AUC IT team, regular software patching and updates, firewall object and rule updates, VPN troubleshooting, performance and troubleshooting. Examples of work that would be defined annually as an initiative or project are things like a rewrite of the firewall rule base for improvements, object clean up and firewall upgrades, and as well as configuration and implementation of any equipment that has reached the end of life. The AUC’s environment has the following characteristics: Office locations/user base Calgary (140 users) Edmonton (10 users) Data centres One physical and two Microsoft Azure landing zones Network Physical: LAN, WAN Wireless: one in each office location that each host three networks End points Workstations: 20 Laptops: 140 Video conference rooms: 8 Networking devices: 46 Servers: 85 Further firewall details can be obtained upon signing the non disclosure agreement provided in Appendix IV.
