Produce, baking, artisan crafts and more await each Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Agriculture Grounds
Few things are better than locally grown produce, harvested fresh from the earth that day. And the warm goodness of sourdough straight from the oven? It’s the perfect side for that deliciously crunchy salad, perhaps topped with local strawberries or farm-raised chicken.
The good news for those without the space or time for their own garden is that all these things and more are at the Wetaskiwin Farmers’ Market, welcoming enthusiastic shoppers year-round on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at Agriculture Grounds.
Sharing goods that have been grown, baked or made here in Central Alberta, the market celebrated 50 years of local goodness in 2023, a testament to the community’s passion for local producers, says Val Morrow, who operates the market with husband Stan.
