RMWB: Application deadline extended for Community Impact Grant and Games Legacy Grant

The deadline to apply for the Community Impact Grant and the Games Legacy Grant has been extended to September 21, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. MST.

Interested social profit organizations, individuals, teams and groups are encouraged to apply online through the Community Investment Program (CIP) Grant Portal. The Portal makes applying for grants easy, more efficient and streamlined. CIP staff will be available to assist organizations with online application submissions.

Community Impact Grant – Provides funding through three grant streams to registered non-profit organizations to support community needs and contribute to achieving goals identified by the Municipality in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Strategic Plan. Applicants may apply for funding, up to the maximum amount, from each of the following grant streams:

  1. Community Programs and Projects – $80,000 maximum
  2. Community Events – $20,000 maximum
  3. New Events – $50,000 maximum, with a declining proportion of funding available for a maximum of three years.

Games Legacy Grant – Provides funding to athletes, performers, artists, teams, coaches or instructors in Wood Buffalo through the following streams:

  1. Developmental Activities: development of skills through training, programs or activities in amateur sport, arts and / or culture
  2. Travel and Accommodation: participation in provincial, national or international level competitions, including the North American Indigenous Games

Individual applicants may apply for grant funding up to a maximum of $1,500 and team or group applicants may apply for a maximum of $3,000.

All complete submissions received prior to the deadline will be reviewed against the policy and guidelines. Funding recommendations will be presented to Council during the 2023 Budget Meetings later this year.
