Thousands of returning evacuees poured out of cars, trucks and buses over the weekend, but there’s still a lot of work to do in a region devastated by wildfires.

Throughout the village of Air Ronge, town of La Ronge and Lac La Ronge Indian Band, residents honked, waved and hugged as they reunited with family and friends after being scattered across the province and into Alberta for the past two weeks.
The evacuation orders have now been lifted for the entire region with the exception of the Hall Lake reserve south of La Ronge.
