Nunavik birthright org opens nominations for two executive positions – Nunatsiaq News

Corporate secretary, VP economic development up for election Jan. 16

Nominations are now open for two positions on Makivik Corp.’s executive: corporate secretary and vice president of economic development.

The positions are up for election Jan. 16, 2016, each for three-year terms.

Nomination forms are now available at Northern Village or landholding corporation offices in each community, and these must be submitted to Makivik by Dec.1 by 5:00 p.m., the birthright organization said in a Nov. 3 release.

Makivik’s vice president of economic development job has long been held by Michael Gordon, a former mayor of Kuujjuaq, first elected to Makivik’s executive in 2007.
