Nechi Institute Invitation to attend a Community Gathering

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta has made a significant commitment to Indigenous Health.  Nechi Institute has attended information gathering meetings and in support of the Indigenous Health Initiatives Program.

The Indigenous Health Initiatives Program was initiated in 1988 under the name Aboriginal Health Careers Program.  Since that time, the Faculty has worked to increase the number of Indigenous students in its program, to work with communities to inspire youth to stay in school and consider health careers and to assist communities with health promotion and health literacy projects.  There is still more work to be done to increase the number of Indigenous students in medical school.

As such, the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry is inviting the Indigenous communities to attend a Community Gathering on October 15-16, 2015.  Please see attached poster and contact details attend.
