Local players Hit The Ice for reality hockey show – Wetaskiwin Times

APTN’s Hit The Ice will be hitting the small screen this coming winter with a few familiar faces.

Wetaskiwin’s Lane Lightning and Cody Hodgson were invited to participate in filming the fourth season of the hockey reality program this summer.

The program features the top Aboriginal players, aged 16 to 18-years-old, as they experience the rigors of a professional training camp.

The players are scouted at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, and the top 30 are asked to join the Hit The Ice camp, where the prospects are put to the test and gain valuable experience as they get ready for their on-ice audition in front of many junior scouts from Canada and the United States.
