Investigation of shooting involving RCMP concluded

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has completed its investigation into a fatal RCMP officer-involved shooting and released the assistant executive director’s report.
On April 3, 2021, pursuant to Sec. 46.1 of the Police Act, ASIRT was directed to investigate an RCMP officer-involved shooting on O’Chiese First Nation. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

ASIRT’s mandate is to effectively, independently and objectively investigate incidents involving Alberta’s police that have resulted in serious injury or death to any person, as well as serious or sensitive allegations of police misconduct.
