Indigenous owned company creates unique wildfire defense unit – CFWE

An Indigenous owned company in Red Deer has developed a system that can protect critical infrastructure during wildfires.

The Rural and urban fire suppression system, or RUFUS, is a fire prevention system designed by CJS Industrial.

RUFUS is a self contained unit built in a sea can and offers 360-degree surveillance available through a phone, has an independent power supply, and generates a protective humidity bubble from 3500 gallons of water that can reach 31,000 square feet to shield properties from harm.

The unit can also be hooked up to an outside water source so it can continue to spray as long as the generator lasts.
