Indigenous Elder Albert Dumont leads Well Living House and Unity Health staff in Forest Walk –

Well Living House and Unity Health Toronto staff spent a day with Indigenous Elder Albert Dumont listening to strength-based teachings and learning about the Forest during a team retreat north of Toronto earlier this summer.
Elder Dumont, “South Wind”, is a poet, storyteller, speaker, and an Algonquin Traditional Teacher. He was born in traditional Algonquin Territory (Kitigan Zibi). He has been walking the “Red Road” since commencing his sobriety in 1988. He has published six books of poetry and short stories and two children’s books, written in three languages.
Ottawa’s Poet Laureate from April 2021 to April 2023, Elder Dumont has been part of the Grandparents Counsel for Well Living House at St. Michael’s Hospital since September 2017.
