The Lloydminster Native Friendship Centre will be offering aboriginal adults the chance to upgrade their schooling.
The Adult Basic Education Program, which is in partnership with Dumont Technical Institute, will run Sept. 8, 2015 to June 30, 2016, and will give aboriginal adults the chance to upgrade either to a Grade 10, 11, or 12 level of education.
Bonnie Start, executive director for the Lloydminster Native Friendship Centre said many are lacking high school completion.
“(It’s) a real obstacle going in to post secondary or even in to apprenticeships, a lot of jobs too, the minimum is Grade 12,” Start said.
