Grande Prairie project to benefit entire Peace region – Fairview Post
December 22, 2015
Fairview Rotary Club had a visitor from Grande Prairie, giving them a look at some of the projects Swan City Rotary Club is working on.
Karen Scribner of the Swan City Club said the one big project her club has is the construction of a Ronald MacDonald House type facility but with a wider scope.
Ronald MacDonald house is mainly for children and pregnant mothers, but the Grande Prairie facility – which is planned to be built on land adjacent to the new GP Hospital – will have room for families or anyone from out of town who is in Grande Prairie for Medical treatment and can’t afford a hotel room.
The name for the facility right now is Rotary Wellness House and the size and cost will depend on what partners they can find. The plan is to build something which can be added on to as the need arises.
