It’s a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it.
When it comes to keeping the Ice District clean, some city councillors feel Daryl Katz should be that someone.
Coun. Scott McKeen balked at administration’s proposal to spend $680,000 on snow clearing, custodial services and landscape maintenance for the district’s Winter Garden pedway and community rink during budget talks Monday.
“I’m a little frustrated by it, because we as a corporation and as taxpayers, have been asked a lot to the overall maintenance of that area. And I just think we need to be clear on responsibilities and we need to push back a little bit to the Katz Group and say, ‘Well no, a lot of this is your responsibility,’” McKeen said.
