Dunfield dubbed volunteer of the year – Alberta Daily

The Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau (VSB) has named Shannon Dunfield the volunteer of the year.

Dunfield accepted her award on Friday during the VSB’s annual International Volunteer Day breakfast at the Golden Age Centre.

“It’s truly humbling,” she said. “When you take the time you do it because you love to help people, this is just amazing. I’m so very grateful for the nomination because I wasn’t expecting that at all.”

Dunfield could have expected it, though. She spends between 10 and 20 hours volunteering each week, depending on the time of year and how much she has on the go.
