EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says her government’s new climate change policy will put the province on what she calls a progressive and balanced path forward.
The government hopes to release substantial parts of the policy about one week before the premier leaves later this month for a global conference in Paris.
Notley says they will improve the province’s record in a way that supports Albertans while allowing the oil and gas industry to be healthy and prosperous.
The United Nations summit on climate change is to take place in the French capital from November 30th to December 11th.
The meeting is aimed at negotiating targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions beyond 2020.
