The Cochrane Public Library has always been a large part of the schedule of events that give the town its character, and what is likely the largest event for the library this winter is coming up on February 22. The library is hosting their Indigenous Author Celebration celebration for the first time.
“Hosting an event like the Indigenous Author Celebration is so important as we, as a country, move towards reconciliation,” said program librarian Andrea Johnston.
“Truly, any opportunity we have to celebrate diverse voices, particularly in Canadian Literature, is time well spent! It is a wonderful chance for the public to come and learn from these incredible authors, and for some really great conversations to happen.”
Johnston said that the Saturday affair would be “a day filled with stories, inspiration, and incredible talks” and that four authors would be on-hand: Richard Van Camp, Aaron Paquette, Diana Frost and Trent Fox.
