“This is the first time we’re showing Lana Whiskeyjack’s work, and it’s the first time that this series has been seen all together so it’s brand new.” Emily Baker, Curator
Multidisciplinary artist and scholar from Saddle Lake Cree Nation Lana Whiskeyjack’s is an ongoing series, We Are The Medicine, will be displayed at the Art Gallery of St. Albert until Jan. 29.
The series presents a personal rendering of the nêhiyaw teachings of the Thirteen Sacred Moons.
The curator for ‘We are the Medicine’ is Emily Baker. She says this is the first time Whiskeyjack’s work has been seen at this gallery and the first time this series has been seen all together.
