Job Duties:

• Operate and drive tractor-trailers to transport goods
• Ensure the safety and security of cargo
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Answer clients’ inquiries when transporting goods and address customers’ complaints or concerns
• Ensure all delivery documents are properly maintained during the workday and are available for inspection upon request by management and/or state traffic safety officers
• Apply knowledge of driving and/or commercial driving skills in maneuvering in difficult locations, heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas.
• Load and unload goods
• Pay and receive payments for goods
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Fueling

Requirements

– Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

– Experience: A minimum of 7 months of experience is required.

– Be eligible to obtain a class 1 MELT license

Salary: $28.00- $29.00 per hour, 40 hours per week

Important information: The regular schedule will be from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 04:00 PM. However, flexibility on schedule is required. Work on weekends may be required depending on the business needs. Overtime may be required.
