Responsible for collaborating with various departments across the entire hotel, The Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel is looking to hire Kitchen Helper are a crucial contributor to the heart of our house. Terms of employment:

Core Responsibilities:

• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit;
• Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs;
• Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff;
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas;
• Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment;
• Sanitation and cleanliness of all areas of the dish room, kitchen aisle and dock area;
• Proper use of dish machine; dishware washing; sorting and storing all clean china, glass and silver;
• Neat appearance with proper clean uniform, wearing both a utility hat or hair net and work shoes;
• Breakdown of trays; washing of china, glass and silver; and stocking and distributing clean items, using specified procedures;
• Actively promote accident prevention by keeping all areas swept clean and dry at all times and using wet floor signs;
• Always clean and mop all spills immediately after they happen. Even if you are busy, it still pays to clean up the mess. Also, use a broom and dust pan to pick up broken glass and china. Do not use your hands;
• When stacking racks of glassware, make sure the racks are fitted securely on top of one another. Be sure not to stack glasses higher than eye level and be careful that you can see ahead when pushing dish dollies and carts;
• Adapts to changing business demands and is willing to assist wherever needed in order to ensure the flow of the department is always productive and efficient
• Able to work with little supervision
• Able to lift heavy objects

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Ability to speak English;
• No degree, certificate or diploma required;
• No experience required – training will be provided;
• Open availability including weekends and holidays;
