Vacancies: 4 Vacancies

Salary: $19.00- $21.00 / Hour for 32-40 Hours / Week

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time

Start date: As soon as possible

Education: Some High School required

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Hairstylist Licence

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Personal Suitability: Reliability, team player, efficient interpersonal skills, client focus, dependability

Tasks: Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair; Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences; Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair; Apply hair extensions; Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair; Book appointments; Shampoo customers’ hair; Perform receptionist duties; Maintain and order supplies

Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Roller setting

Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Frosting, Streaking/highlights

Work Setting: Hairstyling salon; urban area

Work Site Environment: Noisy, odours

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environments; Repetitive tasks; Attention to detail; Standing for extended periods; Risks of slip and fall injuries; Use of electrical tools; Use of sharp objects, Use of chemical products
