Salary Range (plus eligible to receive a performance based incentive, applicable to position) :

$132,517 – $179,289

Proven leader with underwriting expertise needed
Lead a national underwriting team specializing in corporate financing and senior accounts. You’ll oversee, manage and coach underwriting teams to partner with corporate sales staff in the preparation of files for approval, ensuring consistency in approach and risk mitigation.

This position is designated bilingual (English and French), and the successful candidate must be able to communicate in both of Canada’s official languages. In the event that a qualified bilingual candidate is not found, a qualified unilingual candidate will be considered and supported in their second official language training. Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

What you’ll do:

  • Coach teams on all aspects of underwriting with a specific focus on corporate files to ensure consistency in application and approach across various regions and markets
  • Oversee large and complex credit proposals for corporate and senior accounts, including syndication and other complex financing structure
  • Partner, collaborate and consult with partners in Corporate Credit to ensure consistent underwriting and continuous improvement of the function

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven leader with an established track record of collaborating with internal and external partners, having a highly professional approach to business and partner relationships
  • Strong communicator who can translate and share knowledge to diverse audiences
  • Significant expertise in the analysis of lending opportunities, and the application of advanced credit analysis and risk mitigation strategies to lending situations, including proven experience in underwriting credit applications

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • A drive to help others achieve their goals
  • Corporate lending experience is an asset.
