Specific Skills:

• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the daily activities of construction tradespeople and subcontractors
• Approve construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtain approvals from buyers
• Stay up to date with safety codes, prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes
• Make estimates of quantities of materials and labor required
• Schedule regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff
• Create work schedules, coordinate work activities with other departments and subcontractors
• Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections
• Process paperwork and travel to multiple sites as required
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Order materials and supplies
• Implement safety procedures and company policies
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
• Write up reports, budgets, project plans

Qualifications:

• Must be able to speak English
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience

Supervision: Carpenters, Cabinetmakers, Apprentices, Trades helpers, Labourers, Working groups, Staff in various areas of responsibility
