Job Description

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build formwork for foundations and grade beams per drawing specifications
• Build formwork for concrete sidewalks, barrier curbs, swales, and curb and gutters per drawing specifications
• Build formwork for concrete piles and pilasters per drawing specifications
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures
• Remove all formwork as above and organize formwork to be used in a similar fashion on future projects
• May drive to and from each project.

Requirements

-Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

-Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate is required OR completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program will help to qualify.

– Basic math skills are an asset.

– Driver’s License is an asset.

Salary: $35.40 per hour, 40 – 44 Hours per week.

Important information:

This position will require flexibility on schedule. The employee will work from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Fridays from 7:00 AM to 3:30; with 30 minutes of unpaid lunch time and 2 paid 15-minute breaks. Overtime may be required based on the clients’ needs.
