June 11 – 14, 2015
Learn to play a musical instrument, make a capote, dance
a jig, weave a sash, and become immersed in Métis Culture – all of this in the beautiful setting of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park – Alberta.
MUSIC AND DANCE CULTURAL FEST Early Registration and BBQ begins on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 (BBQ $5.00).
Daily – workshops: fiddle, guitar, piano, bagpipes, banjo, jigging, drum making, capote making, sash finger weaving, beading, native crafts; Métis cultural venues, learn Michif, tours to a Métis Hivernant settlement; silent auctions; and music resources available from our instructors.
EVENING CONCERTS FEATURING:
John Arcand, Gordon Stobbe, Daniel Gervais, Patti Lamoureux, JJ Guy, Don Sawchuk and Wally Garrioch.
Concert and Square Dancing: 7:00 pm Open to the Public: $10 at the door
Location: Whispering Pines Camp off Highway 41 at Elkwater Rodeo Grounds turnoff.
CULTURAL FEST REGISTRATION FEES: 4 DAY PASS: $125
DAILY PASS: $40 FAMILY RATES AVAILABLE (Please call) SHARED
CABINS AVAILABLE: $20/night RV parking/camping: $15/night (Fees include instruction, cultural activities, meals & evening concerts)
