About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Welcome to our Indigenous Teachings Workshop!

This interactive event at MacDonald Island Park- Borealis Room (located on the second floor) will offer a glimpse into the rich cultural tradition of the Woodland Cree and their long relationship with the land.

Join Elder Bernadette Dumais and Elder David Cree as they share teachings on Cree spiritual beliefs and share their wealth of knowledge on Cree culture and traditions including traditional dances and the significance of Woodland Cree colors, as well as share captivating stories that connect us to this land.

They will also introduce you to the foods traditionally available to the Woodland Cree in the region, offering you new insight on this place that we all call home.

This event is a part of Alberta Culture Days 2024 and is made possible thanks to the generous support of Arts Council Wood Buffalo, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and the Government of Alberta.
