The South Peace Regional Archives will be working with city administration to explore and facilitate its relocation to Centre 2000 from the Grande Prairie Museum.

The proposed relocation to the Heritage Discovery Centre within Centre 2000 would see the archives re-established within the existing footprint of the facility, rather than getting a new building for itself.

“Centre 2000 is also thought to be a very good fit with tourism and visitor information services already located in the facility,” said Stephanie Cajolais, manager of Sports Development, Wellness and Culture with the City of Grande Prairie.

“Relocation would require a portion of the existing Heritage Discovery Centre collection to be relocated and some facility renovations would be anticipated to make the space viable for both partners.”
