A Community Open House was held at the Friendship Centre to celebrate the launching of the Aboriginal Head Start Programs in Canada. On December 3, 2018 The Premier’s office and the Ministry of Children’s Services passed an approval that May 29 would be marked as the Day of Recognition for this Committee. This May 29, 2019 is the first year of celebrating this special day.

An inviting BBQ greeted well-wishers at the centre with Debbie Calihoo as chef and Rhonda Arlidge, Program Coordinator, sampling the delicacies. Children and adults enjoyed the fellowship this event provided.
